This place is great. Everything from my childhood is in this store. Staff is cool, and knowledgeable. Prices are pretty fair considering the age of most items. Records, CDs, gaming systems. Little bit of everything
Sold a gold ring here I was given as a gift that I didn't need anymore, had no idea if it was real or not. The guys here are really chill and figured out the karat for me and gave me a fair price per the gram. Also they have an adorable Shiba Inu dog named goku. Lots of cool vintage gaming stuff too!
The owner once saw an episode of 'Hardcore Pawn', and it became a dream of his to run a pawn shop. Known him since high school, great guy, came from a respected family. Very reasonable person, (especially when negotiating), as he has been buying/selling antiques and collectibles for many years prior to Uncle Bucks.. I think even made a couple antiques deals with my parents.
The new Uncle Bucks is a nightmare. Merchandise is filthy, covered in gunk of previous owners. All the jewelry is distgusting. Proprietor is rude and stated explicity that he doesn't care if he gets anyone's business. WORST EVER. Do not shop here.
My sisters and I recently inherited quite a bit of jewelry and after we kept the pieces of what was wanted, we visited a few different stores in town to see what type of value the rest of it had. Well I’m glad we didn’t settle on the first location or second. The owner offered us quite a bit more than the others. I’m so grateful that we went to Uncle Bucks. The store is under new ownership I was told and I recommend them to anyone who wants to sell any type of gold and silver jewelry.
This store is amazing! The new staff and owner are very friendly and they're great people to talk to, especially about video games. It's my go-to place to buy them (both modern and retro), after Gamestop closed in Orillia. Someday soon, I hope to sell my own games from my collection once I go through my backlog. Either way, they give great deals and have the best prices I've seen around. Thanks to them, I finally got to play both DS and 3DS games that I missed out on in my childhood, and I didn't even have to break the bank or leave town to do it. Well, they're also a pawn shop, so they still have a bunch of other goodies that people might be interested in. Still, if we're talking about video games and collectibles, I really recommend this place. It's a literal gem in the rough, and I would definitely pick this place as the best store to buy and sell your own games, hands down.
Went in for the first time since I heard that they are closing. The gentleman is very business like attitude. The woman should not be behind the counter. Her attitude sucks. Not surprised they are going out of business. I'd never be back.
