Good selection of items however I bought a dresser and made sure multiple times that all the drawers worked good and when the employee flipped it onto the cart to bring it to our vehicle he was not gentle and we heard things breaking inside it and him and the other employee both made faces that it was clear they knew. Then he shuved it into our vehicle with no care if it was going to get damaged. When we got it home we found all the drawer clips busted inside it and the majority of the tracks came off. I ended up spending more then I paid for the dresser to fix it as I had to buy all new tracks and clips for the drawers. I've heard from a few people that come here often that the owner/manager? (or whoever the older man is) isn't very nice and I've witnessed his unpleasant personality myself so I'm sure employees hate working there but if people are spending money they should still try and be careful.
I really want to be excited about this store, because I always love a great deal and I'm perpetually renovating something (I'm a contractor). This store is well organized, and always has a great assortment of items to choose from. From what I have learned from doing a little bit of research, Habitat for Humanity is doing some great things; they are giving back to the community and making it possible for some families to have a home to live in, they employ staff and give volunteers opportunities to learn new skills. However, I struggle with the costs of many of their used products. I've found that many of these items can be found new, at the same cost or for less. I often wonder if someone who is inexperienced is pricing these items. I would recommend before you visit, that you take measurements of the areas in your home, and keep a running list in your wallet (as well as any paint swatch colours you have around your home). You never know what you're going to find, shopping here is a little bit like a treasure hunt...
Amazing amount of stuff!..the staff are fantastic and there are some great finds depending on what your looking for..I picked up some cds and books..woohoo cost me $5.00..3 cds and 4 books..I renovated and got some stunning lite fixtures that are still sold on line and at most high end retailers..yep..$20.00 for a stunning wood and glass led fixture that's $140.00!..again try to hit all the restores in your areas..great finds and helps support the community as well..plus please take good donation items there before value village..last place I'd donate too!
There is a lot of variety in the items. Nice mix of furnature, tools and construction items. Keep an eye out for the auction items near the door. I was surprised at some of the brand new in the box gas leaf/debris blowers this visit. Great volunteers and an excellent cause.
Called the Orillia store to see if they could take a beautiful china buffet. It was upsetting to be told yes bring it over, so we carefully loaded the two pieces and went only to be told by the MANAGER that they have no room? I guess I will sell it myself and donate the money to an organization that really needs money. I will make every effort to apologize to their cooperate office for the inconvenience and will concentrate on donating to places that really need help. They are obviously doing fine
Great staff. But I’m truly wondering where they come up with their prices on all the free stuff they get. Some of the prices are brutal and far fetched. That being said I have found the odd item for a reasonable not a steal price. :)
Best place to bring household items we no longer use and a great place to pick up items we need! There's no need to buy new all the time... buying new has become a last resort option, and there are many restores to explore! Inventory is constantly changing, and you'll see new pieces later on the same day! Check often if you are looking for something specific... Restore! ?
