A great shelter and wonderful staff, I adopted a kitten in August 2025. He’s such a sweet boy but adopted him very sick without knowing. My poor boy was sneezing blood within a week of adoption requiring extensive vet visits and care. A few months later, he went temporarily blind and was not himself, many vet visits later ($$$) it was determined he has FIP…a fatal disease to cats. Thankfully I am able to afford the treatment that is newly available in Canada. However, this disease is only transmitted through contact with other cats (shared litter boxes and feeding). He has not had other contact with cats since adoption and therefore must have contracted from the shelter. He at this point is healthy and loved, just a precaution when adopting from this location. They do their best, but be ready for hefty vet bills due to communal living spaces.

I’ve adopted 2 cats from the CCS and overall had a pleasant experience each time! They have the cat’s best interest in mind when it comes to the adoption process and all the volunteers are great!

Beautiful place with lovely staff! The cats are not only well taken care of, but clearly loved. Amazing experience and went home with our sweet girl who has been such a joy. Thank you to Comfie Cat for being patient with us taking our time, explaining the entire process, and ensuring we understood every step. Adoptions are very organized and we couldn’t have asked for anything more. Perfect place to adopt!

Do not get a cat here. We just adopted cats here not to long ago and the second day we got them one of them started to have a gross eye with eye boogers coming out. We went to the vet and they said that it was common for that shelter to have stuff like that. It's a infection that can kill them. It's a long term infection but it can be treated. It can stay with them there whole life. Do not get a cat there unless you want to pay 600$ in vet bills. We never got any warning of any such thing at the shelter. When we called Mathieu to tell him we where having issues, he sounded completely annoyed by the situation. Do not buy a cat there it's not Worth your money. Edit:(I did not buy the cats my sister did and she has a different last name.)

I found a stray cat in my recycling bag. His name is now Red. He was starving and very skinny. He was covered in fleas, had worms and cuts all over him. He's a sweetheart and just wants all the love you can possibly provide. It breaks my heart that irresponsible pet owners let this to happen to poor innocent animals. I brought him to the comfy cat shelter and they took him in. Now he will see a vet and be on the road to recovery. Thank God for this place! All the volunteers there have great hearts and really care about what they do. I'm very thankful we have organizations like this to help these poor animals. Soon he will be up for adoption, I really hope Red gets the best home ever after all he's been through ❤

First off I would like to apologize for my recent comment , this shelter and the people who run it are so amazing! They care for the animals and the people! I sadly had to surrender my cat due to it being sick and I didn't have the finances to take care of her , but the women at this shelter helped me so much! They took her in and sadly my cat died from being sick but they did everything the could for her! Special thanks to barb! She is so nice! She has kept me in the loop about our cat and I couldn't be more grateful!

I volunteered there for almost 2 years. I enjoyed my time there. Barb is very passionate about what she does. Tut has become a great addition to my home. ? Thank you Barb for everything.

We do not have you on file as adopting from us, however, if you did, we thoroughly disclose any potential health risks and if you did adopt, you would have gone through each health related item with the adoption volunteer and signed the health check that every single cat/kitten receives before going out the door.
